Joseph Dave Gomez (born 23 May 1997) is an English professional footballer who currently plays for Premier League club Liverpool as a defender. Gomez is mostly a center-back, but he can also play either full-back position.
Gomez began his career at Charlton Athletic, where he broke into the first team at the age of 17 and played for one season before joining Liverpool in June 2015. Gomez struggled with injuries after establishing himself as a first-team regular, but he participated in the 2019 UEFA Champions League final as Liverpool won the title.
Joe Gomez appeared in the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup final, which Liverpool won for the first time in the club’s history. He was a member of the Liverpool side that won the Premier League for the first time in 30 years in 2019-20.
